Alfa Romeo Stelvio becomes 2019 COTY finalist!

Midrand, 20 November 2018 The South African Guild of Motoring Journalists (SAGMJ) today announced the top 10 finalists that will be competing for the coveted 2019 AutoTrader SA Car of the Year (COTY) competition early next year, and the Alfa Romeo Stelvio is a leading contender.

“To be recognised as a 2019 COTY finalist by SAGMJ is a monumental achievement for Alfa Romeo Stelvio, and is testimony to the passion and dedication that FCA put into creating a beautiful and practical SUV that makes zero compromises when it comes to sporty performance,” says Graham Eagle, CEO of FCA South Africa.

Between 10 and 12 March 2019, the 2019 COTY jury will be putting all of the finalists through their paces and scoring them on elements such as exterior design, interior practicality and design, as well as ride handling and braking.

The Stelvio is no stranger to industry accolades in 2018, as the Stelvio Quadrifoglio already scooped the inaugural ‘Driver’s Award’ at the prestigious carwow 2018 awards, while the Stelvio SUV was also named New Car of the Year 2018 by Quattroruote readers, and named Most Fun-to-drive Vehicle as well as Most Fun SUV by the Northwest Automotive Press Association.
